SANTA CLARA, Calif., November 7, 2006–RAID storage expert Infortrend® today announced the EonStor® A16F-R2431 array, a 16-bay, redundant controller, Fibre Channel to SATA-II subsystem.  This new RAID array is among the first of Infortrend's products to come with its exclusive ASIC400, the company's latest application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC). Running at 400MHz, the ASIC400 delivers a 25 percent performance boost over the previous generation of ASIC266 products. The ES A16F-R2431 utilizes 4Gbps Fibre Channel (FC-4G) technology for twice the throughput and higher reliability compared to FC-2G, making the new system ideal for 24x7 high availability operations.

The ES A16F-R2431 features all necessary fault-tolerant mechanisms ranging from controller failover/failback and battery-backed synchronized cache to high quality, redundant components. The ASIC400 expands bandwidth while built-in RAID6 functionality provides an extremely high level of fault tolerance for mission-critical data by handling two simultaneous drive failures without downtime or data loss.
